Denver Basin

Maturity Data

May 2020

The Denver Basin maturity data set contains thousands of vitrinite reflectance and pyrolysis data points.  Just like our Powder River Basin data, the geochemistry team annotated what laboratory and instrument analyzed the sample and in instances of conflicting data in the same well, we provide guidance on the preferred value given the basin history. The data come as a series of grids as well as raw data table

Denver Basin

Niobrara-Codell Production Study

May 2020

The Niobrara-Codell Production study is a robust analysis of vertical and horizontal production from new and historical wells in the basin. The study was undertaken to investigate regional and local variation in production rate and liquid-to-gas ratios (LGR). The resulting commodity maps are useful for high grading development location and facility planning while the production relationships with geologic variables reveal areas higher risk, even in this well developed play. Deliverables are krigged map grids, raw data, and a 42 page report discussing the methodology and findings.

Williston Basin

Maturity Study

May 2020

The Williston Basin maturity data set contains thousands of vitrinite reflectance and pyrolysis data points.  Just like our Powder River Basin data, the geochemistry team annotated what laboratory and instrument analyzed the sample and in instances of conflicting data in the same well, we provide guidance on the preferred value given the basin history. The data come as a series of grids as well as raw data table

Powder River Basin Turner-Frontier-Wall Creek Stratigraphy and Reservoir Study

July 2020

There are relatively few published papers on the Turner petroleum system and even fewer that highlight the interpaly of these partially coeval depositional systems. This study looks at the regional sequence stratigraphy of the reservoir systems, shale seals and inter-formational baffles to better tie well results to reservoir quality. In the PRB it is common for reconnasance data services (RSEG, IHS, DI, etc) to map the Turner-Frontier-Wall Creek as one system and provide net to gross maps; however, this approach yields erroneous interpretations due to the varying rock attributes, facies and depositional environments.  This project will deliver a regional set of formation tops, facies descriptions, shale marker bed tops, porosity and permeability data so that regional mapping projects can be tied to well results in the most robust way possible.

Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin Petroleum Systems Study

Q4 2020

The WCSB contains conventional and unconventional systems with significant heterogeneity in results. The heterogeneity is a result of migration, uplift, multiple charge and PVT relationships. Our study uses production data, rock data and 3-D basin modeling to highlight the variability of the systems and provide a predictive framework for yet-to-find fields especially in the tight sands and stratigraphic traps.
